Bike and Bounce

I'm so proud of Barrett! He has learned how to ride his bike so well. At first, he was a little leery of the support from those flimsy training wheels, but it didn't take him long to realize that they would help him keep his balance.
We've been riding all over! He just recently rode around the entire neighborhood as I went for my walk!!!! It was over a mile from our house around the neighborhood and back! Nice job. No more pushing him in the jogger stroller and letting his long legs drag the ground! ha

Opening Cosmetic Jump! What a fun place!!! We were invited to Carter Kelly's birthday party at this place and WOW was it fun!!! A huge place full of trampolines!!! Kids were bouncing all over the place, playing dodge-ball, and basketball. There were even a few bounce houses with slides and trampolines built inside of them! Matt liked it so much...that he wants to have a company party there! hahaha (for big kids).

Game Time

Barrett has become the expert at playing Whack-a-Mole and Hungry Hippo! He's fabulous. I haven't played these games since I was a kids myself (same as Matt). We find it to be fun and entertaining!!!!

Surprise!!!!

Although it was a little early in pregnancy, Matt and I decided to tell our families about our baby #2 at Christmas.
We took a Cheerio, and attached a slip of paper saying, "I'm about this size right now, but in August of 2012, I'll be much bigger".
I wrapped the Cheerio and slip of paper in a small jewlery box and put in under the tree for my parents to open. We did the same thing for KK (Matt's mom) as well.
Here is the shot of my mom and dad opening their baby surprise gift! My mom screamed so loud! The way she and my dad responded, was absolutely priceless!!!! Good times!!!
I do admit that I squeaked the news earlier that day to my sister (who seems to drag information out of me no matter what). I let her in on the secret so she could help take pictures during the moment my parents and neices found out!!!

Christmas Time 2011

Lots of FUN at Christmas this year. I can't believe this was Barrett's 3rd Christmas!!! This year, Barrett's wish list included Lion King movie and Cars 2 movie, along with all types of action figures (Toy Story, Cars 2, and Lion King).
Other gifts we got included"
bean bag, soccer ball, Simba (Lion King stuffed animal), Lincoln Logs, tons of games (Memory, Hungry Hippos, Whack-a-Mole), marble slide, Legos, etc. The list goes on and on!!!
All of our family was GREAT to us by giving, giving, giving!!!!

Speaking of Legos...I don't know WHO was more excited about the Legos...Uncle Corey or Barrett!!!!!

Career Day

For Career Day at Primrose, Barrett dressed as a "good" policeman. He's the one that decided he was going to be a "good" policeman vs. a "bad" one! I thought that expression was kind of funny. I guess he's been talking to his dad too much. Matt sometimes calls the officers that pull him over for speeding as, "bad cops". ha!!!
Since my daddy was a policeman, I consider them all to be GOOD!

Notice the 3rd picture down. This is the actual name tag that my daddy (Jimmy Barrett) wore on his DPS uniform while he was an officer. He passed it on to Barrett. Barrett thought it was the neatness thing ever to see his own name on a shiny badge.

Along with Career Day, the students studied a variety of occupations. A fireman was one of Barrett's favorite! Here is a picture of the hat he made/designed. I think it looks pretty good!!! Barrett calls them fighterfighters or firefighters. We get tickled when he's talking fast and it comes out as fighter-fighters!
This is just one of my favorite close up shots of Barrett. I love it when he gets a haircute! It always make him look so much older!!!

Fun Times and Outings

Every once and a while, Barrett and I have DATE NIGHT where just he and I go out to spend quality time together. On this particular "date", we headed to Stonebriar mall to ride the carousal, watch the ice skaters and hockey player on the ice, and do a little shopping. I love this boy! He is so much fun, keeps me GREAT company, and is one of my best friends!!!!

Other good times include heading to the park where I would go for a run while Matt and Barrett played. Then, Matt would take off on his mountain bike through the trails, and Barrett and I would swing, ride the 4-wheeler, or go for a nature walk! Love these weekends of family outings and look forward to the warm weather when we can do it again!!!!

Barrett's School Christmas Program

Look at this handsome little guy. Actually, he is getting much taller and growing up way too fast for me.
Barrett is attending Primrose Private School in Allen. He absolutely loves his teacher Mrs. Phillips and has really enjoyed meeting new friends. I love the structure, routines, and academics that are embedded in their program.
The school held a Christmas program at the public library in Allen. Barrett seemed like such a big boy standing up on the stage and singing.
Of course, half way through the program, things began to quite comical! You could tell the kids began to get "restless" and the next thing we all new (watching from the audience) was a group of 3 year olds running across the stage, jumping up and down, and literally running in circles. There was even one point where Barrett bumped heads with another friend in his class. C.R.A.Z.Y.
Keep in mind, the attention span of a 3 year old doesn't last very long. Especially when they are on stage, with friends, noticing their friends, all dressed up, and having a platform (the stage) where they can slip and slide all over the place in their "new little dress shoes".
Here are a few shots before the program!

Getting up on stage. Let the good times roll!!!!!

*The rest from this point on (live performace) is on video. I'm keeping it in a very safe place for my grandchildren to watch!!!
