My AMERICAN Boy!!!

I love this!!! We've just about mastered the Pledge of Allegiance. Perfect timing for Memorial Weekend coming up!

Sunday Birthday on the Lake

Whew....my fingers are on FIRE! ha I've written 3 posts prior to this one, all in one day! Keep reading to catch up on the latest and greatest with Barrett Luke!!!!

On the actual day of Barrett's Birthday the weather was beautiful!!! Pa-pa Barner and Gramsey called us up and invited us on a little boat ride around Lake Ray Hubbard for the afternoon. We drove over the to the Bass Pro Shop and had lunch at Texas Land and Cattle. Our waiter was sweet enough to bring Barrett a little birthday dessert for the family to share!!! Gorgeous afternoon with a boat ride, wonderful family, fishing, and birthday celebrating!!!!!

Barrett's BIRTHDAY

Three years ago, God blessed me with the most precious miracle, Barrett Luke. Becoming a mother has been more than a joy. The love I have for my Father in Heaven and my son Barrett are truly indescribable! I thank God each and every day for the blessings I have recieved, but Barrett is always at the top of my list! He has made my world an entirely different place, sheds light on my darkest days, and has brought me more happiness than very imaginable!
Happy Birthday Barrett! May ALL your dreams come true.

The PARTY!!!!

Theme: Lightening McQueen
Celebration Park in Allen, Texas - Even though we haven't moved to Allen quite yet, we found this incredible "spot" last year that was ideal for parties and little playdates. We decided to have Barrett's party here last year...as well as this year.

Both years, the weather was kind of cool. Saturday, I think it was only in the 70s, but as boys usually do, they ended up in the water!!!

Prior to getting drenched in the water...the kids were able to play on the playground equipment beside the spray park. Celebration Park is a huge area, so I wasn't worried about running out of things for the kids to do. There are slides, swings, rock climbing, tunnels, ponds, huge grassy fields, picnic areas, and a water spray area for all to enjoy!

Once Wyatt tested the waters...there was no stopping Barrett! Those two have so much fun together!!!!

Barrett and Wyatt

Megan and Hayden

It was a great day with GREAT friends. After our party, our friends, The Smiths (Megan, Jeff, and Hayden) came over to play, along with Wyatt! The boys played with trucks and cars, ran around in the backyard (chasing me), ate pizza, and rode tricycles. When the day was complete, we ALL slept well (and at my old age...I was feeling rather sore from the game of chase in the back yard). I guess you could call it the AFTER PARTY!!!!

Mother's Day Weekend

Lots going on over Mother's Day weekend...and the hottest temperatures I've ever witnessed in the month of May.

We drove out to west Texas for the weekend to see our moms, watch a dance recital for Miss Karlee, and celebrate Kelsey and Barrett's birthdays. Miss Kelsey was born on May 12 and Mr. Barrett on May 15. Therefore, they will probably share a lot of birthdays in the future!!! I can't believe my niece is thirteen. When Matt and I started dating, she was three! Wow! Now we have a three year old, and Kelsey is growing up before our eyes.

Little Miss Karlee performed great at her dance recital, however, had the stomach bug for the remainder of the evening. Poor thing didn't even get to celebrate or hang out with us very much.

Here are a few shots of our weekend:

Cousins - Karlee 8, Barrett (almost 3 years), Kelsey 13

Papa Barrett (I'm sure he doesn't want me to post his age -haha) and grandson Barrett

The temperatures throughout the weekend were insane. HOT, DRY, HEAT (and I'm not kidding). It was 102 degrees outside on Saturday, and 105 on Sunday! It seriously felt like a summer day in the middle of August! Whew!!!

KETCHUP Time!!!

Get ready...and tune in. I've got a few blog posts for you to view.

Let's be honest...I can talk, and you know writing short posts just probably ISN'T going to happen. However, I'll do my best to keep it short and sweet..and to the point.

Family Pictures
I thought family pictures might be more successful, but it turns out that the more you ask Barrett to look at the camera and say cheese, the worse his behavior becomes. I should have know that, right? It turns out, his candids were much better. I'll just have to take what I can get. Overall, family pictures were needed, and I was able to get a few decent pictures after an afternoon of hard work!
